As part of the research effort at Winchester University I participated with colleagues in the Innovation Journalism symposium at Stanford University in Palo Alto (Silicon Valley) California It was a chance to keep up to date with the latest developments in digital technology, and the changes in the regulatory and legal environment in which journalists work which has resulted from technical change.

Previously at the University of Westminster I had the honour of teaching small groups of in-service Indian journalists as part of the Chevening Programme, and students from more than thirty countries on the MA international journalism programme at the university. Also while at Westminster I was part of a delegation sent to the national university of Estonia to advise on journalism education and development of the media industry in the context of a post-totalitarian society.
